Antenatal Clinic

If you become pregnant, you will be given a 'booking appointment' at which time you will be asked a few questions and some general health checks will be carried out. You will be regularly monitored throughout your pregnancy at the practice.

Child Health Clinic

All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from eight weeks old.

Nurse-led Monday 1.30 - 3.00pm
Dr McDonnell Wednesday 2.30 - 3.00pm
Dr Jasper Thursday 2.00 - 3.00pm
Nurse-led Thursday 2.00 - 3.00pm

Minor Surgery

Minor operations can be done in our treatment room. Please discuss with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.

Smoking Cessation:

The practice has 2 smoking cessation advisers who can give advice and support to patients trying to give up smoking - Helen Lewis-Jones and Karen Brooker.

Exercise:

A clinic is run by Karen, Health Care Assistant.

Diet:

Karen Brooker, HCA, is trained in weight management. If you would like help and advice, please contact the surgery and arrange an appointment with Karen Brooker.

Immunisations

Children

The current recommended schedule is:

2 months Triple (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis), Polio, Hib (Haemophilus)
& Pneumococcal (PCV)
3 months Triple (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis), Polio, Hib (Haemophilus)
& Men C (Meningitis)
4 months Triple (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis), Polio, Hib (Haemophilus),
Men C (Meningitis) & Pneumococcal (PCV)
12-13 months Hib (Haemophilus) & Men C (Meningitis), 1 dose MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) & Pneumococcal (PCV)
3 years 6 months
to 5 years old
Pre-school booster (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio) and Pertussis
2nd with MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)
13 - 18 years Booster - Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio
15 - 19 years (girls) HPV (Human Papilloma Vaccination)


Influenza And Pneumonia Vaccine

In accordance with Department of Health guidelines, we recommend an influenza plus pneumonia vaccination for patients with diabetes, chronic heart, lung or kidney disease and residents of nursing and rest homes. The vaccination is available in October; please contact the practice nurse for further details.
