Caring for someone with a mental health problem?
Get FREE 30 minute appointments with a Mind in Croydon adviser
Caring for someone with a mental health problem can be challenging. It can be hard to find someone who understands what you are going through.
We offer free 30 minute appointments with a Mind in Croydon adviser, who can offer information, advice and emotional support tailored to carers of someone with a mental health problem.
Whether you need support navigating the mental health system or you simply want to speak to someone, Mind in Croydon Carers Support is here for you.
Sessions run fortnightly on a Thursday, and the next session is Thursday 23 January, with appointments between 10.30am-12noon.
Please note that sessions are open to Croydon residents caring for a person with a mental health problem only.

Bereavement support for carers
If you are a Carer or former carer experiencing a bereavement, we are here for you.
Based on a programme developed by St Christopher’s Hospice, our new "Learning From Loss" bereavement group for carers and former carers is here to help you share your experience, explore your feelings and discover ways of coping and finding strength.
Who is this group for?
The group is open to current and former carers of a Croydon resident, who have experienced a bereavement at least four to six months prior to starting our sessions. A Carer looks after a relative, friend or neighbour who needs support due to illness, disability or old age.
The group will be facilitated by a qualified and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered counsellor.
Date and venue
Sessions will run for seven consecutive weeks, 10.30am - 12noon, from Friday 5 October to Friday 16 November 2018 on the first floor at the Carers Support Centre. Please note that there is no step-free access to the room.
It is preferable that participants will attend each session. We hope to run future sessions, so please let us know if you are interested but cannot make these dates.
